Have you ever used spritzing bottles in your crafting endeavors? I’ve shared several ways lately that I use spritzing bottles, and today I want to share another fun technique that uses water in spritzer bottles to create a watercolor effect without the mess. My cards today highlight the Stampin Up True Beauty stamp set, and I’m looking forward to sharing these projects with you.

Today’s projects highlight the Stampin Up True Beauty stamp set. Even used without the technique I’m sharing today, this set creates lovely watercolor type images.

Spritz Stamping Technique

Here’s how to do spritz stamping:

– Place your stamp onto a clear block or Stamparatus plate. You may find you prefer one over the other. For my video I used regular stamping blocks.

– Ink the stamp and lay it ink side up on your work surface. Make sure to have grid paper or something else to protect your work surface underneath.

– Use a water spritzer and spritz the stamp one or more times with water.

– Stamp onto your project.

– If you’ll be stamping again with the same color, make sure to stamp onto scrap paper before reinking to prevent water from the stamp from soaking into the pad.

This is pretty simple. It creates a little bit of a mess with the spritzing, but not nearly as much as some watercolor techniques, and the result is beautiful!

Spritzed Floral Card Samples

I shared how to make all three of these cards in today’s video. The first card is really simple. I used a little too much water and ended up with some splatters, but I think it fits the card since we are doing watercolor.

For the second card, I stamped the greeting and then created flower clusters surrounding it on opposite corners. Isn’t this new Orchid Oasis color gorgeous?

I created a slimline card for my third project. I used several stamps, a few ink colors, and larger clusters to create the lovely background on this card. After I finished stamping, I shared several techniques including embossing the edges, blending color using blending brushes, and spritzing using masks to finish the background.
