Have you seen Stampin Up’s Hey Chick stamp and die set? It’s seriously one of the funniest and most adorable sets I’ve seen for quite a while. Living on a farm myself, I absolutely love the theme of this set. I’ve created six different cards using this bundle, and I’m excited to share them with you today. Let’s get started.
Hey Chick Stamp Set & Die
Included in the Stampin Up Hey Chick stamp set are 3 chicken stamps, 3 sayings and a cute little half hatched egg with legs…hilarious. The die set is amazing. It includes cutouts for all three chickens, the egg with legs, two other eggs, ears of corn, a sign, stump, stalk of corn, chicken feed, fence and a chicken coop. You can create fantastic projects with all of these pieces and parts!
Chicken Cards Video
My video below introduces the chick-themed cards I’ve created, and I’ll also demonstrate how to make two of the cards. Feel free to check it out and use these ideas.
2 Chicken Cards
Let’s talk about how to make two cards using the Stampin Up Hey Chick stamp set and coordinating dies. I’ve included a materials list as well as steps to make these cards.
Have A Happy Day Card
Materials:
- 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Cajun Craze Card Base
- Hey Chick Stamp and Die Set
- Cut & Emboss Machine
- Blending Brushes
- Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder
- Soft Suede Ink
- Mango Melody Ink
- Pumpkin Pie Ink
- White Cardstock
- Crumb Cake Cardstock
- Dimensionals
Instructions:
First, run the card base through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. Set aside. Next, stamp the three chickens with Soft Suede ink onto white cardstock and cut out with scissors. Color their feet, beaks, and combs with markers. With a blending brush, color in chickens with Soft Suede, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie ink. Die cut the sign from Crumb Cake cardstock and stamp greeting with Soft Suede ink. Assemble card with dimensionals.
Hey Chick Card
Materials:
- 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Whisper White Card Base
- Hey Chick Stamp Set
- 5 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ Whisper White Cardstock
- Memento Back Ink
- Blends Markers – Real Red, Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler, Light Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody Pool Party, Bermuda Bay
- Seal+ Adhesive
Instructions:
On the 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ white cardstock, stamp the three chickens on top of each other in Black Memento ink. Next, reach for your blending markers. For the top chick I used Light Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody markers. I colored the middle hen with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. The bottom chick is colored in Real Red, Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler. Stamp the greeting, then adhere the stamped cardstock to the front of the card base (this way you won’t see the ink that bled through on the inside of the card).
More Stampin Up Hey Chick Cards
Here are other card samples I created using the Stampin Up Hey Chick stamp set.
I love the ‘feed’ on this card that I created with one of the dies.
These eggs are just fantastic.
I call this one the ‘crazy chicken.’ I’m pretty fond of her 🙂
This card is my absolute favorite. Look at the detail in this die set!
