Not too long ago I shared a tutorial showing how to use white ink for several different techniques. Then I started thinking how it would be fun to use white ink to create cards inspired by the chalkbook look. That’s what we’re doing today. I’ll be using the Stampin Up Crafting With You bundle to create several black and white chalkboard inspired cards. Let’s take a look.
Chalkboard Card Ideas
My first card was actually created with different products than the rest. I used the Good Feelings stamp set for the greeting and created the ‘wood’ frame with Deckled Rectangles dies and the Timber embossing folder. And are you wondering how I made that adorable apple? I created it with the Sweetest Cherries stamp and punch bundle.
The rest of the cards were created with the Crafting With You bundle, which you can see here.
This card was so simple to create. I embossed the background with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder. I die cut the easel, stamped the greeting, and added a bit of ribbon behind it.
What do you think about this card? This one was very simple to create. I stamped the images all over the background, then heat embossed the greeting onto a piece of black cardstock, which I popped up.
For this last card, I created the background by stamping some of the images and die cutting the rest. I like the subtle appearance of the raised die cuts on the background. I created the chalkboard appearance on the embroidery hoop die cut and added the greeting from the stamp set.
