Each season when I get my brand new Stampin’ Up! supplies and get my hands on them, I always think about how can I use these fun new goodies in really unique ways. A few days ago I shared a beautiful watercolored sunflower card with our soon-to-be-released Celebrate Sunflowers bundle, and today I’m sharing the Blossoms In Bloom Bundle, along with a really neat spritz stamping technique. Let’s get started!
Purple is my FAV. I loooooooooove purple. When I decided to use the spritz stamping technique on these flowers, which gives the result of a watercolor-like image, I just had to use purple for the flowers. I tried to pick other colors. I had yellows, oranges, reds, and pinks picked out, but I tossed them aside for these gorgeous shades of purple, and boy am I glad I did!!
After I finished the spritz stamping, I also dry embossed the cardstock with our also soon-to-be-released Textile embossing folder, and what a neat effect this gives! It looks like an old fabric print, especially after I sponged some Crumb Cake ink around the outside to ‘age’ it.
Below you can see the amazing products I used to create these cards, including the Stampin’ Up! Blossoms In Bloom stamp set and Many Layered Blossoms dies. The die set is only showing half of the dies that are included. It has another large die that could be layered behind the one that is showing!
Would you like to make this card or try the spritz stamping technique? Check out the video below, or read along for more info.
Spritz Stamping Technique
Here’s how to try the spritz stamping technique, using multiple colors of ink on one stamp, yourself:
- Ink your stamp with the lightest color of ink.
- Add the medium color of ink in desired locations to your stamp using a sponge.
- Add the darkest color of ink in desired locations to your stamp using a sponge.
- Use a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water to spritz a fine mist of water over the stamp. The more water you add, the ‘messier’ or more watercolored the final image will appear.
- Stamp onto your cardstock.
- Ooooo and ahhhhh at the gorgeous results!
You can also use this technique with a single color of ink on the stamp, which is also very pretty!
This is such a fun technique to experiment with. If you try it out, I would love to see pictures of what you create!

Anna – I’m not sure why this older video popped up for me today but it did and I watched it again. I love the spritzing you are introducing and the card is simply gorgeous. That set appears so intimidating at first, but you did a fabulous job demonstrating the steps in an easily understood manner.
Happy World Card Day!
Lou
