Hello and welcome! As many of you know, I just got back from my Maui trip and it was beautiful there. The water, the beaches, everything! Needless to say, I miss it already, but I when I got back, I did find a happy mail package waiting for me. My May Paper Pumpkin Batter Up kit had arrived! This baseball-themed kit perfectly represents American’s favorite summer pastime. Keep reading and I’ll share with you my May 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas and kit samples.

New and Improved Instructions
Before we get started, I wanted to add a little note about the Paper Pumpkin instructions. Stampin Up has created new and improved instructions included in our Paper Pumpkin kits. There are now dedicated sections with step-by-step instructions for each predesigned project — in color! There’s also a picture of everything included in the kit and a QR code that can be scanned with your phone for more alternative ideas.
Batter Up Kit Contents
The Batter Up kit comes with all the necessary pieces to make 9 fun, pre-planned cards. As you can see in the picture below, there are a ton of supplies that come with this box. The bubble gum was a nice touch, don’t you think??
This kit includes: Foam Dimensionals, Adhesive Dots, 9 Card Bases, Batter Up Stamp Set, 9 Envelopes, Several Die Cut Sheets, Pre-punched Tags, Night of Navy Ink Spot, Twine, Dot Embellishments and a fun little touch of Bubble Gum!
Pre-designed Projects
Each Paper Pumpkin kit comes with pre-designed projects planned by Stampin Up. Below are the samples I created using the kit as it was intended.
May 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Ideas
Your Paper Pumpkin kit can do so much more than just the preplanned projects. I love coming up with alternative ideas and ways to use these kits. Check out my May 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternative projects below.
Die Cuts & Stamp
For this first alternative, I used some of the leftover die cut pieces and stamped the words “All Star” three times on the card.
Feminine Card
I wanted to make a card that didn’t necessarily look like it was for a boy or man, so I got out some other ink colors to give this card a more feminine look.
Stamping Off Technique
One of my favorite techniques to use with my Stamparatus is the Stamping Off technique. Here, I used one of the leftover card bases and added the “You’re the Best” greeting using the stamping off technique. I also used the bat stamp to make the fun pattern behind the cut out piece.
Scrapbook Page
Because so many memories are made at summer baseball games, why not make a scrapbook page to remember all those fun times?! Here’s a sample of a scrapbook page I made with my Paper Pumpkin kit.
Check out my tips here for ideas on how to stretch your May 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit even farther, or watch the video shown above. See how I used the Handsomely Suited dies to make the baseball bat shown above?
Here’s a sample of how I made more baseballs with just a circle punch and red marker.
Treat Holder
Stampin Up has these new treat holders called Mini Jam Jars, and I thought they would be adorable filled with popcorn or other treats for all your little all stars.
