Line Coloring With Water Painters

13 Nov

Hello stamping friends! I’m so glad you’re here today. Do you have any stamps in your collection that you don’t use very often because it takes a lot of time to color them in? Would you like a quick and easy coloring technique to try? I’m excited to share about today’s line coloring technique that I came up with for today’s Christmas card example, so let’s take a look at it.

Line Coloring Video Tutorial

To learn about line coloring, how to use it on projects, and how I created today’s card sample, watch along with this video.

Angels Of Peace Stamp Set

Before we take a look at the card project in closer detail, I want to quickly share the beautiful Stampin Up Angels of Peace stamp set that I used to create it. Isn’t this stunning?

Cutting Dimensions

If you would like to make these cards yourself, you’ll need to prepare the following pieces:

  • 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Bumblebee cardstock
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″ So Saffron cardstock, embossed with the Merry Melody embossing folder
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″ White cardstock for inside
  • 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ White cardstock
  • 1 1/2″ White circle punch

Line Coloring – How To

To line color your stamped images, you’ll need to use water painters or another type of water brush. Place an acrylic block onto the surface of a Daffodil Delight ink pad to pick up some of the ink. Lay it on your work surface with the ink facing up, and then pick up some of the ink with your water painter. Start line coloring over the stamped lines. Because you aren’t coloring in the entire image, this saves so much time! Plus it’s carefree and you don’t have to worry about going outside the lines. I just love the end result.
