Card Materials
To make a pull tab card, you’ll need the following:
- Card base 5 1/4″ x 8 1/2″
- Card front 4″ x 5″
- Optional mat 4 1/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Pull tab strip 1″ x 6″
- Foam adhesive strips
How To Make A Pull Tab Card
Making a pull tab card is much simpler than you might realize! The most difficult step is creating the cut out strip from your 4″ x 5 1/4″ card front. I demonstrated in the video how to create this cut out using a trimmer. If you prefer, you can also use a punch or die to create the opening.
Once the card front is prepared, lay it on the card (don’t attach yet) and stamp your hidden greeting in the opening. Use foam adhesive strips on the back of the card front, leaving a 1″ gap around the cutout to lay your pull strip. Attach the card front to the card, then insert your strip and attach decorations using dimensionals. Watch along with the video for a great visual!
