Hi crafters! Fall is officially here, and I want to celebrate with an exploding box card tutorial featuring a beautiful sunflower, fall leaf, and pumpkin. Would you like to join in?
As I mentioned, the name of this type of card is an exploding box card, or sometimes it’s called a card in a box. Can you believe this card will actually fold flat and fit into a regular A2 size envelope? When I first saw these cards, I completely ignored them because they looked scary. I thought they would take daayyyyyssss to make. Eventually I tried making one, and it wan’t nearly as hard as I expected! If you’re afraid of them, I encourage you to try making one. Keep reading and I’ll show you exactly how.
Featured Products
I wanted to feature all of the goodness of fall on this card, and I used the following products to do so.
Celebrate Sunflowers
The Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and coordinating Sunflowers dies are just gorgeous. The large sunflower was the perfect piece to include as the feature of this fun card. See a few other projects I’ve made with this set here.
Harvest Hellos
The Harvest Hellos stamp set and coordinating Apple Builder Punch have been some of my absolute favorites since they were released last year. I have made boatloads of other projects made with these products, so take a look.
Gather Together
The Gather Together stamp set and Gathered Leaves dies are the perfect combination for fall. With a beautiful leaf, nice pumpkins, a bundle of wheat, and beautiful sayings, it can cover many of your needs for fall craft projects. See some other projects made with them here.

This paper, with so many foil accents is simply beautiful! Below is another card featuring these gorgeous prints.
