I’ve started a series of posts to help new card makers get into this hobby, and today I want to share some simple card projects that anyone can create! These projects are quick and easy…and cute! Let’s get started and make some simple cards!
Let’s Make Some Simple Cards Tutorial
Watch along here to see as I create these projects!
How I Chose My Stamps
Before we begin, I’ll share how I chose the stamps that I used on the projects shown below. For beginner card projects, I like to choose stamps that include both nice images and nice greetings for an assortment of occasions. As you’re building up stamps in your collection, focus on adding stamps like these before purchasing specialty stamps, so that you can get as much use from them as possible.
Simple Cards Featuring Round We Go
For my first two cards, I started with the Round We Go stamp set. As you can see, it includes several unique stamps that can be used to create patterns or textures, plus quite a few greeting stamps.
I decided to use premade card bases and envelopes for these cards (all products that I used will be linked at the bottom of this page). This is a great way to make the task of decorating the cards extra simple.
For my first card, I stamped several different design stamps with three different colors of ink, and placed this piece over the yellow card base. For the second card, I stamped the pink flower and added the yellow center. To keep these cards simple, I chose greetings that were already prepared from the Saying Something Ephemera Pack.
Let’s move on to using a different stamp set!
Simple Cards Featuring Latte Love
Next I chose to use the adorable Latte Love stamp set.
I pulled out some premade white card bases and envelopes, and used stamps to create a pattern across the entire background. With just two colors of ink, I made these adorable cards! I stamped the greetings onto some paper scraps, and popped them up with foam dimensionals.
Next let’s look at some simple cards that use pretty patterned papers!
Simple Cards Featuring Pocket Thoughts
I chose the Pocket Thoughts stamp set for this last set of cards.
For the cards shown below, I started with premade card bases and envelopes that have lovely gold accents. I added some pretty paper from a Memories and More Card Pack, and then prepared smaller pieces of white cardstock to use for stamping. To create the card on the left, I stamped the diploma repeatedly, but I only inked the stamp every other time I stamped. This creates the faded effect. For the card on the right, I stamped the cupcake outline, and then filled it in with the frosting stamp.
Hopefully these simple cards have given you ideas of cards that you can create yourself!
