Use This Card Sketch Today For Beautiful All-Occasion Cards

25 May

Welcome! Do you ever get into a creative funk and find it hard to come up with card designs? I do too. Have you ever heard of a card sketch? A card sketch is basically a template or pattern that can be used over and over while switching up some of the decorative elements. My team member Tanya shared this challenge with our Stampin Up team recently, so after I created my project I wanted to share it with you. I switched it up a little from what she originally designed by changing it from a horizontal card to vertical.

The stamp and die set I used for this project is called Color and Contour. Let’s take a look at this set first.

Color & Contour Stamp & Scalloped Contours Die Set

Here’s a look at the Color & Contour Stamp and Die set. This set is a two-step stamp set. It has one stamp for an outline and a second to fill in with color for a large flower bloom, a tall flower on a stem, and a flower bud. It also contains uplifting phrases such as “you’re absolutely amazing” and “so very happy for you”.

The dies included with this set feature a series of scalloped rectangles, the outline of the flower head and the outline of the stem and flower. The layering rectangles are really nice because each one has a different detail included near the edge – stitching, dots, or small cutouts. These little touches add so much to the die cuts! This set also has a scalloped edge die included.

I’ve already been using this die set all the time, and I’ve heard the same thing from other stampers. I expect that it will be my most-used die set for the near future.

Next, let’s take a look at the measurements needed for this project.
