Pretty Leaf Punch Card Using Stampin Up Beautiful Autumn

24 Oct

A couple of weeks ago I held my October card class for my local stampers. I hadn’t held one of these classes since Covid hit, and I hadn’t truly been offering a regular class before that either. I had offered a few classes since moving to my new area at the beginning of 2019, but hadn’t done them regularly. Here recently I’ve found some women who really want to do this crazy stamping thing, so it’s time we get together and create! Because I love fall so much, I decided for this October class to make three different fall cards. Today’s wreath card made using small leaf punches was one of them. Let’s talk about it!

Let’s begin by looking at the Beautiful Autumn bundle from Stampin Up, that I used to create this card.

Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set

The Beautiful Autumn stamp set includes lovely and tiny stamps of a maple leaf, oak leaf, acorn, and several other types of leaves and leaf clusters. This is a two-step stamp set, meaning you can stamp the outline of the images with one stamp and color, then fill in the image with another stamp in another color.

Acorn and Leaf Punches

What’s better than an adorable stamp set? Usually when I ask this, my response is, ‘When it has a coordinating punch!’ So I’m going to say that now, but this set doesn’t have one coordinating punch…it has three! The punches include a maple leaf, oak leaf, and acorn. The leaf punches make it so quick and easy to punch out the stamped images, and punched or cut out images add SO much to projects, like today’s fall wreath card.

Next let’s talk about making this card!

Making This Autumn Wreath Card

To make today’s card project, you’ll need:

  • Beautiful Autumn bundle
  • Gilded Autumn or other designer series paper
  • 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Crumb Cake card base
  • 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ Early Espresso
  • 3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ Soft Suede cardstock
  • Linen thread
  • Early Espresso stamp pad
  • Multipurpose Glue
  • Foam dimensionals

To make this card, begin by using the acorn and leaf punches to punch out lots of leaves and acorns from your designer series paper. Place cardstock squares on the front of your card base, and make a ring of glue where the wreath will be located. Begin adding leaves and acorns one at a time, until the wreath is fairly full. When you like how it looks, add 6 or 7 more leaves on the very top using foam dimensionals to pop them up. Add a bow (handy tip for tying it here) and a greeting, and you’re done!
