I am the first to admit I have become pretty lazy when it comes to my scrapbooking habits. Years ago, it wasn’t unusual for me to spend hours on a single page. As time has gone on, getting the pictures onto pages has become much more important than how adorable the page looks when it’s done. The pictures are what matters, you know. Wait, did you hear that?? It’s about the pictures! Some of us lose sight of this at times. Someone I used to work with put it really well when she told me, “Everytime I came home from one of my events, my daughter would come running and say ‘Show me my book mommy.’ Not once did she ever say that the pages were cute. She just wanted to see her pictures.” So now that I’m a mommy, it is much more important to me to stay caught up on my pictures than to have the most adorable scrapbook on the planet. Hence I have become a lazy scrapbooker. I’m a fine album maker, but lazy scrapbooker.
I force myself to excercise my scrapbooking skills when I’m creating pages for my Make and Take events. I hold them once a month, and I design pages and prepare all the materials for my participants to make them as well. I don’t want people to show up and be disappointed, so I try to create cute pages. I thought this Zoo Babies scrapbook layout turned out super cute. And even better- it took no time at all to create.
