It’s been a bit since I’ve shared a tutorial with Blends alcohol markers, so it’s time for one I suppose! I received the new Stampin Up Softly Sketched stamp set recently and I thought the images included in the set would be perfect for lineless coloring with alcohol markers. Take a look at the cards I was able to create with this technique.
Stampin Up Softly Sketched Stamps
Here’s the lovely set I used for these cards. It includes three large, beautiful images and several teeny tiny greetings. I wasn’t sure about the greetings, but after using them I really like them! They’re so tiny and adorable and I really like how they look on the cards.
Lineless Coloring With Alcohol Markers
To try this technique, you’ll need to begin by inking your stamp with Memento ink. Next, stamp onto scrap paper two to four times before stamping onto your project. Then add color as usual with your Blends alcohol markers. Let’s take a look at the samples I created.
Cotton Stems
For this card, I used my Light Smoky Slate marker around the edges, then used my Color Lifter to blend the gray into the blank white areas. On the stem I also used my Natural Skin Tone 600 marker.
Butterfly & Flower
For this one I used Light and Dark Tahitian Tide as well as Dark Orchid Oasis on the butterfly. For the flower I used Light Flirty Flamingo, Light Melon Mambo, and Dark Sweet Sorbet.
Grapes
The colors I used on this card include Light Highland Heather, Dark Moody Mauve, Dark Blackberry Bliss, Light and Dark Shaded Spruce, and Dark Mossy Meadow. I just love how this turned out!
I just love the grape stamp, so I also made this quick and easy card with it.
