Stampin’ Up! Lily Of The Valley & Fun Techniques

28 May

Hey friends, I’m excited to share some techniques that I’ve never tried before today, and the occasion is because I have a new kind of paper! New paper? You might be asking, “What does that mean?” Let’s take a look at the Stampin’ Up! Lily of the Valley bundle along with this new paper that I speak of. You’re going to love these cards!

Video Tutorial

Watch along here and don’t forget to comment on the video to be entered to win my giveaway for this week!

Stampin’ Up! Lily Of The Valley

Before I share the cards and techniques, I wanted to show you the stamp and die bundle that I used to create today’s cards. This set is so delicate and unique, and it pairs amazingly with the coordinating designer paper and embossing folder.

Take a look at these new techniques for me using white core cardstock and the Stampin Up Lily of the Valley bundle!

Two-Tone Paper

The sounds super boring, but it is the reason for today’s fun tutorial! A while back, Stampin’ Up! started offering two-tone cardstock. The colors of these cardstocks coordinate with our standard colors, but they’re unique because one side is the actual collection color and the other side is slightly lighter. This gives you two color options to work with instead of one. I’m finding that I like to use both colors on the same project! In addition, the center of the paper is white, which allows certain techniques to be used and the white will show through. That’s what I’m focusing on today.

Let’s take a look at the cards.

White Core CardStock Techniques

Let’s look at the cards I created, along with the techniques I used to highlight the two-tone cardstock with a white center.

Card 1

For this card, I embossed the two-tone cardstock, which brought out a tiny bit of the white center. To show more of the white, I used a sanding block to do some distressing. I also distressed more heavily around the edges, which is a technique you can use on its own without the embossing.

Card 2

I did a fun corner scoring technique on this card. I also distressed it with a sanding block as mentioned in the first project. I overlaid the two-tone card stock with some of our Sunset Shimmer paper, which is absolutely stunning.

Card 3

See that light green paper in the background? I did a bit of decorative scoring on it before sanding over the top. I love this technique! I’m going to have to do a full tutorial on this soon!

Which of these cards is your favorite? Comment and tell me at the bottom!

I used the embossing and sanding of the two tone paper on my Christmas cards last year. It makes the cards so much more interesting.
Looking forward to using the lily of the valley paper pack soon.
