Stampin’ Up! Far Away Landscapes

12 Mar

Every once in a while, I share a tutorial for how to add color to a stamped image without using markers to actually color them, which can be tedious at times. Today, I am using the Far Away Landscapes stamp set to do this, and I just love how these cards turned out. Let’s take a look at them.

Coloring without coloring video tutorial

Watch along here and check out the details about my new weekly giveaway! Make sure you comment on each new video for your chance to win a crafty prize!

Featured Stamp Sets

The Far Away Landscapes set is one of those stamp sets that doesn’t look like a lot until you see finished projects. As you can see, it includes three nice landscape stamps.

I also used the Family Ties stamp set, which has beautiful greetings for Mother’s and Father’s Day.

Coloring Without Coloring Card Samples

1. Stamp on designer paper

A great way to add color to a stamped image is to choose a design designer paper with appropriate coloring and stamp on top of it. Here you can see one example of this.

2.  Add color with a texture stamp

To add color to this image, I used a texture stamp from the Swirled Designs bundle. Watch along with the video for details on how I did this.

3. Scribble!

Technically, I did color the image below, but I did it with some quick scribbling with my Blends alcohol markers. What do you think?

Glad I can help. This is a truly awarding hobby. It is something we enjoy, and then we get to bring joy to others when we send them the card. It is so amazing! Truly, a ministry.

Love this idea of not doing ‘precise coloring’. Each card looked great! Thanks for the tip!

Where do you come up with these great ideas!??? I would never have thought of doing that with those scenery stamps and I probably would have been scared to buy them!!! You have made them look so beautifully amazing!!! I am in awe and so impressed! Thanks for that! I will defiantly keep watching to see what beautiful ideas you come up with next!
