Stampin’ Up! Color Lifter For Magic Blending Techniques! 

I am excited to do some blending magic today! Blends alcohol markers are a wonderful way to add beautiful color to your projects and there is one marker in particular that I don’t talk about very often, the Stampin’ Up! Color Lifter. We are using it today for some extremely easy coloring techniques. Let’s take a look at some fun card projects.

Blends Alcohol Markers

I’ve shared many alcohol marker tutorials in the past, but if you are new to using Blends markers, you may want to start here to learn a bit about them.

What Is The Color Lifter?

The Color Lifter pen, is a colorless marker that coordinates with our Blends alcohol markers. It can be used in several ways, including to remove color, push color, or blend between a colored area and blank space.

Color Lifter Techniques

Let’s look at three coloring techniques and three different cards, each using the Stampin’ Up Color Lifter marker.

Canine Companions Card

I did two different coloring techniques on this card. For the dogs that are outlined, I outlined them with a Smoky Slate marker, and then used the Color Lifter to color another line to blend the gray into the blank space.

For the darker dogs, I colored them fully with Smoky Slate and then used the Color Lifter over the top to remove a bit of color.

Feline Friends Card

On the card below, I outlined the cats with a Melon Mambo marker, then went back and added another outline with Fresh Freesia. I went back a third time with the Color Lifter to blend into the open space.

Cuckoo Crew Card

For my third card, I did a similar technique to the card above, but for this one I left open space before creating my outline.
