Hi friends, thanks for stopping in today. It’s been a little bit since I’ve featured any paper scrap card ideas, so I think it’s time to share a few! Today I’ll share six different designs for using the narrow paper strips you have left over from your patterned paper packs or cardstock. I decided to decorate most of these cards with the Stampin Up Bee My Valentine and Bright Skies bundles, and they turned out so cute. Let’s take a look.
Stampin Up Bee My Valentine
Here’s this adorable bundle. I’ve been using it a lot, but I hadn’t actually shared any of my cards online yet. Today you get to see them!
I love that this stamp set includes all the fixin’s for cute bee cards. You know I’m a sucker for a cute stamp and punch bundle, and this one is obviously adorable. The punch makes it so quick and easy to create these bees.
Stampin Up Bright Skies
Here’s the other bundle I used on two of today’s cards. It’s perfect to bring a little cheer to someone facing a gloomy time.
6 Paper Scrap Card Designs
Ok, let’s take a look at these scrap card ideas!
1. Horizontal Strips
For this design, just cover a piece of cardstock or your card base with white cardstock strips lined up horizontally. You can leave a space between them like I did, or they can even be touching, especially if you’re using different colors or patterns. Of course you can place the strips vertically too if you like.
2. Diagonal Strips
There are a lot of different ways to use diagonal strips as well. I’ve offset my strips to make them look like rain on this card, but you can cover the full piece of paper if you like.
3. Jagged
For this design, cut different lengths and offset them to create a nice background. Try this horizontally or diagonally as well.
4. Border
Doesn’t this make a nice border? I used wider strips on this card than on the other ones, but you could use narrow strips as well.
5. Pinwheel Design
Take a look closely at this design. Can you see that I attached the white strips in a pinwheel design before stamping over the top of them? I’ll share below how to create this design.
6. Herringbone Design
Here’s another fun design to try. This is so simple…and all I added for decoration was the greeting!
