It’s so cold around these parts today, I thought I would dream of a beautiful beach scene to warm myself up! I made today’s Picture Perfect beach scene card using the Picture Perfect stamp set, of course. A few weeks ago I got out this same stamp set and tried out the rose and hummingbird stamps, but I’ve been wanting to make something with that great starfish. Today is the day! Here it is!
I paired the Picture Perfect stamp set with a second set to make this card – Timeless Textures. I used Timeless Textures to create the clouds, ocean and sand. The sentiment and starfish were from Picture Perfect. I think it’s a match made in heaven, or in my craft room at least!
So how did I create the background? Like this.
- Sand- Sponge with Crumb Cake, then stamp various patterns from Timeless Textures with Crumb Cake ink. I stamped off on scrap paper part of the time before stamping on my card to achieve a lighter color.
- Sky- Sponge with Soft Sky, then stamp the flourishes from Timeless Textures using white craft ink.
- Water- Sponge with Soft Sky, then use the stamp from Timeless Textures with Lost Lagoon ink to stamp the waves. Stamp off on scrap paper before stamping on your card. Use the same stamp with white craft ink where the sand and water meet.
There are two different stamps to make the starfish. Using Crumb Cake cardstock, stamp the first stamp with Crumb Cake ink. Then stamp the detail stamp with Chocolate Chip.
This is one of those cards that makes me happy just looking at it. I hope it brightened your day too!
