More Ways To Use Your Shape Dies!

9 Apr

Hi friends and welcome. I know you love your basic shape dies because you can use them in so many different ways. Today I want to share three unique ways that you can use your nesting shape dies. Let’s take a look at them.

More Ways To Use Your Shape Dies

Here are a few creative ideas for how to use your shape dies. Let’s take a look at them.

1. Easel Fold Card

Easel fold cards are simple to create, and this one is extra special because I used the Beautifully Celebrated die to cut the card base. Watch along with the video, or you can get the tutorial for a different type of easel fold card here.

2. Pop up Fun Fold

Here’s another fun fold card that you can create by using a shape die to cut out the front of your card base. Then attach that piece to a pop-up on the inside.

3. Layered blending

By creating masks with shape dies, you can use your blending brushes to create a layered background effect as you see here. This is such a simple but nice effect!

I don’t have very many shaped die curs, but I bought the Sweetness bundle and love the tag dies that came with it

Anna – I learn so many tricks with your videos. I love making cards and use all my shaped dies – can’t say I have a favorite!!! Question for you – how are you storing the new dies and shapes so it’s easier to see. Years ago I bought a circular upright ‘thing’ that a card shop used to display books. It works great for the older packaging but not sure how it will work with the newer packaging. One thing I do is cut a sheet of magnetic that tapes to the inside of the packaging along with the shapes. I like to keep everything together – especially for word dies. Any other suggestions/ideas will be helpful!!!

    Anna!
I guess my favorite shape die is the rectangle. I have some that have stitches, lines, scallops, woodgrain and basic straight sides. I have so many that I have a hard time deciding which one I want to use!

Right now I love anything with scallops. I go through phases, but I usually prefer Circles and Ovals.

Hi Anna. I really like those ideas on using die shapes to create these very beautiful cards. I guess my favorite die set is the ovals. especially the ones with scallops edges.
