It’s my Inspire Create Share Bog Hop debut! Thanks so much to the ladies for welcoming me into their hopping group! I’m excited to be participating! If this is your first blog hop, make sure to read (or at least scroll) all the way to the bottom, then click on ‘next,’ and continue through all the blogs until you get back to me. That way you won’t miss any of the featured projects!
Our theme for this month is ‘Showcasing the Holiday Catalog.’ When I first heard this, I thought, ‘How in the world am I going to showcase the Holiday Catalog with one project?’ After dwelling on this for a few days I decided it just wasn’t gonna happen. No way. Not happening. Once I accepted that, I decided to highlight two products that I didn’t feel were very well displayed in the catalog. You just can’t tell how neat these products are from the small pictures in the catalog, so maybe my project will help a little with that!
The two main products that I’m featuring are the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way Stamp set. So here’s what I came up with.
I was just playing around one night and somehow this beautiful creation developed. When I started working with the Sleigh Ride thinlits, it struck me that I needed a beautiful wintery night sky background for the sleigh ride scene. Watercoloring has been one of my favorite techniques lately and it hit me that a watercolor background would be perfect. I think it definitely added some drama to the card.
To make the card, first I created the watercolor background and then added some glitter splatters to look like snow. Then I cut some whisper white cardstock using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and added those pieces on top of the watercolor. As clear as mud? If you would like to see exactly how I made the card, check out this video.
So what do you think about this card and these products? I saved some great news for last- you can get the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way stamp set in a bundle and save 15%! Use the links at the bottom to do your shopping, or contact you own demonstrator to order.
I hope you liked my project! Let me know if you have comments or questions. And please click on the button below to continue to the next stop on our blog hop! Next up is Sharon!
Great Card! Love the salt technique!
Anna, your card is absolutely stunning! Loved your video too! The technique you did is one of my favorites and it was absolutely perfect for this card!
OMGosh I love the watercolor background here!!! I can’t wait to try this set now! Would love a tutorial on how you got the “veins” on the background though!
Hi Joni! Thanks for your comment. If you check out the video I made it might help. What you’re talking about as veins probably is a result of using the salt after I did the watercoloring. There is a link to my video in my post that shows what I’m talking about with the salt.
WOOHOO hello Anna! So happy to have you on our monthly blog hops! Your card is SOOOO cool. The 1st chance I get I am going to watch your video too. I need to get out of my comfort zone and start creating one of a kind cards such as yours.
This is a great card Anna! Love the sky technique and will probably use it for a club project. Great video…I’ve been wanting to do my own and you have inspired me to do it and stop talking about it. 🙂
OMG – OMG – OMG! Absolutely STUNNING. AND I love that you did a video on the watercoloring. THAT makes that background much nicer and looks easier than what I did by just painting the watercolor paper. You card is awesome!
What a beautiful project and your video is awesome! I learned some things! A new use for salt! LOL! Learning is good! YEAH! Thanks for joining our group we are so lucky to have you!

Great video and such a beautiful card!
Hi, I have just watched your beautiful video on the new Sleigh Ride edgelits and was inspired to have a go myself, but I will have to buy some watercolour paper tomorrow as I don’t have any at home. I love the new Christmas catalogue and such a variety of goodies inside. Thanks for the tuition and I look forward to many more from you. Love Jessie x
Thank you! Isn’t the new catalog amazing? I hear that the Stampin’ Up! watercolor paper is better than most of what’s out there, but I haven’t ever used anything else so I can’t say for sure. You’ll have to try it out and let me know how it goes. I would love to see a picture if you have a minute to send one once you get your card done!
i love this card. It really caught my eye on Pinterest. Thanks for the great instructional video. I am going to try it tomorrow!
You’re welcome! I would love to see how yours turns out!
Beautiful! I am going to feature tonight at a workshop. I tried it and love how it turned out.

Great card & video, Anna! I saw your Pinterest posting & loved it. I have the edglits ordered but, alas, they are still on backorder. I plan on trying this gorgeous technique as soon as my dies arrive. Think I’ll go make some backgrounds right now. Thanks for the inspiration!!
The card is beautiful Anna. The sky looks like the Aurora Borealis. You do an excellent job explaining how to make the card and use the technique in the video. I appreciate your talent and your teaching skills. Thank you for sharing with everyone!
Thank you! You mentioned my teaching skills…I used to be a teacher so I guess it comes naturally!
I bought the edgelits and stamp set and love your techniques. The card is so beautiful. I was looking for additional ways to use this set and now I have your inspiration. ave not tried watercoloring but now inspired. I hope one day I can be as creative as those I see online.
I’m so glad to give you some inspiration! I don’t know if you’ve seen this post, but it’s another card I made using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits. https://www.handmakewithlove.com/a-magical-night-christmas-card/ Enjoy!
