I’m nearing the end of my 12 Days of Gift Ideas, and for Day 11, I have a sweet home block set to share with you. It includes the letters for the word ‘HOME’ but the O’s are made up of cute die cuts for the different seasons. For example, for Christmas the O is a tiny poinsettia. For winter, it is a snowflake, and so on. Let’s take a look at this neat home decor idea.
Home Block Set Video Tutorial
Watch along here and I’ll explain all about this cute home block set!
The Blocks
I used individual blocks for my sign, but you could also created the entire sign all on a single, longer, block. You could use a photo frame or other items as well – whatever fits your fancy! You should be able to pick these items up at the dollar store – even better!
The O’s
The best part of this sign is the interchangeable O’s that can change seasonally. Below I’ll share up close photos of the pieces I created, and I’ll also share the name of the die set that I used to create each one.
Snowflake – Giving Gifts Die Set
Chick – Birthday Chick Die Set
Flower – Many Layered Blossoms Dies
Butterfly – Brilliant Wings Dies
Star – Christmas Trimmings Dies
Pumpkin – Seasonal Swirls Dies
Leaf – Giving Gifts Die Set
Poinsettia – Poinsettia Die Set
You could create more, less, and different pieces for your set. What about a clover for St. Patrick’s Day, a heart for Valentine’s Day, or a chocolate chip cookie from the Nothing’s Better Than bundle just because you or your recipient loves cookies and/or baking?
How To Switch Pieces
I attached velcro to the back of my pieces making them extremely easy to switch out. Small magnets would also be a great option.
Storing The Pieces
You won’t want a bunch of extra pieces floating around with nowhere to store them. I fit all of mine into one of Stampin Up’s small plastic embellishment cases, which was perfect! Another idea is to attach extra velcro on the back side of your blocks and store them there where no one will see them!
