Hi everyone! How was your Thanksgiving? What about Black Friday and the weekend? I hope the last few days have been filled with family, friends, relaxation, and some shopping! I spent last week sharing sneak peeks from our upcoming 2020 Mini Catalog, which I am super excited about, but I have to cut myself off from that for a bit, and this week I want to share some nice stocking stuffer and gift ideas with you! A handmade gift is never forgotten in the mix of holiday chaos, and I hope you will take the time to gift some handmade creations this year! Today’s stocking stuffer idea is these really easy to create hand stamped wood chip ornaments. Aren’t they cute?
I made these up for a craft fair a few weeks back, and they were very popular! As you can see, I used a variety of stamp sets to make them. I’ll have a list of our in-stock sets at the bottom with links to order if you like!
I made up an assortment of ornaments, with the idea of having something to interest everyone. I had general holiday-themed ornaments, tractors, animals, old cars, crosses, and plenty of others as well.
The wood chips or wood slices for these ornaments can be prepared yourself if you are crafty with a saw (or know someone who is), but I chose the quicker and easier option which was to order them online. Amazon has them as well as many other stores.
I stamped directly onto the unfinished wood. I used our regular ink colors for many of the stamps, but for the ones I wanted to color with Stampin Blends markers, I first stamped with Memento black ink before adding color with the markers. You could use a sealer on them if desired, or leave them as is.
These are such a cute gift idea for anyone in your life! I hope you will make some hand stamped wood chip ornaments yourself!
