Group Stamping Challenge

30 Aug

What’s better than a party with some great girlfriends? A party with girlfriends and stamping! Last weekend, I threw a party for the wonderful ladies who are demonstrators on my team and who have hosted classes for me over the last year. It got rave reviews and I’m already excited about next year’s party. I’ll have to figure out a way to top this year’s festive events!

I will share more details tomorrow about the party, but today I wanted to share some cards we made. I had a couple of challenges for the ladies to participate in, and this one was a huge hit. To start, I gave each guest a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of whisper white cardstock. I wanted to break out the new Christmas stamp sets, so I told them they would be making Christmas cards. Their first task was to create a card background using their piece of cardstock. They were only to do one step, such as embossing the cardstock or stamping an image onto it. Next, we passed our cardstock to the person on our right.

The next person’s job was to add to or change the background. Once that was done we passed again. We continued on until each person had contributed to each card. The last person assembled and finished the card, and then passed it one more time back to the person who had started it. It was so exciting to see how the cards changed from the time each person worked on them until they were finished.

Here are some of the cards that we made. The card below was the one that I started. I used the diagonal plate and scoring board to score the background before I passed it on. I thought it turned out really cute. I especially love the beautiful ornament!

This next card was absolutely beautiful in person, but my picture didn’t turn out very well. The Woodland embossing folder is one of my favorites!

Group stamping challenge

This was a favorite of mine! Probably because it used two of my favorite holiday products- the Hearth and Home Thinlits and the Winter Wonderland designer vellum stack.

I thought this one was adorable! I love the wooden Snowflake Elements!

Glitter makes everything better, right?

How adorable is this one???

How about this one? Aren’t these Reindeer Clips fun?

This was the card that I assembled and finished before passing it back to the person who started it. Our Fun Flower punch seems to resemble a poinsettia!

Everyone had so much fun with our group stamping challenge, that it was decided I should do classes this way! I’m hoping to try it out sometime this fall and see how it goes!
