It’s Christmas time, and we’ve started a unique family tradition that we call our ‘Fun Food Christmas.’ I thought you might enjoy if I share it with you, so that’s what I’m doing today!
Fun Foods Christmas Video
Watch along here as I explain our holiday meal, it’s history and what we created this year!
How It All Began
When my daughter was young, I wanted to have a special meal at home that was different from all the other holiday meals we went to. I started seeing ideas for themed food items, and it seemed like a great way to impress a 2 year old. The fun food experience began with our first being a Thanksgiving celebration with a turkey meat/cheese/relish tray and turkey cheeseball!
The Holiday Meal Spread
Here’s what we created this year…
…and my plate full of yummy goodies!
Snowman Pizza
Pizza is so easy and you can make it in the shape of a snowman, Christmas tree or anything else. For a shortcut, buy refrigerated dough like I did!
Christmas Tree Bread
This was new to our menu this year, and it will definitely be a returning favorite. It uses refrigerated pizza dough as well, plus string cheese sticks. Delicious! Get the recipe by clicking on the link above.
Festive Jello
There are millions of pretty jello recipes. This one is pretty but not our favorite flavor-wise.
Wreath Relish Tray
Last year we created a Christmas tree relish tray, but this year’s wreath is so much prettier!
Santa Hat Brownies
All I have to say is…yum!
Penguin Oreos
These are another new addition this year. Ours are not nearly as professional looking as the samples I saw online, but I think they’re some of the cutest penguins on the planet…partially because two of our little penguins made them.
Grinch Punch
The entire family LOVES this punch!
Get The Family Involved
For whatever reason, the fun food Christmas experience is fun enough that the entire family helps prepare the food – even the boys! Without me twisting their arms! Seriously…one of our teenage boys (I won’t name names) made the Santa hat brownies! And farmer Matt made the beautiful relish wreath!

Your fun food Christmas is FABULOUS! It must be so much fun being part of your family!!! Haha!
My family’s pre-covid tradition was eating Chinese on Christmas Eve and going to a movie on Christmas Day. We are still not venturing into movie theaters, but will most likely have Chinese tonight.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!

I am new to your YouTube videos. I have a question…on your paper trimmer you have a lot of lines. I was thinking the lines match sizes of paper etc. how do you make them stick?
Anna Helman says
Hi Nancy, thanks for watching! Here is a link to a video that talks about the lines on my trimmer 🙂 https://youtu.be/LwSl9MLFt4Q
