I have a very simple and easy tip to share today. It almost seems silly that I’m even sharing this, but every time I have small pieces left on my die cutting plates, I always find myself picking them off one by one. Why do I do this? Am I the only one? If you find that you do the same, keep reading for a quick tip to save yourself time and effort!
Before I share today’s tip, I’ll mention a bit about die cutting machines.
Cut & Emboss Machine
Quickly, I’ll ask what die cutting machine you use. Do you love it? If you’re looking to add a machine to your collection or trade in your older model for a new one you will love, then you can learn more about the Stampin Up Cut & Emboss Machine here or the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine here.
Now let’s talk about those tiny paper pieces left over from die cutting!
Cleaning Pieces Off Your Cutting Plates
Again, I feel silly sharing this, but we’ve come this far so I guess I’ll finish. The little pieces on your cutting plates, leftover after die cutting…do you pick them off one by one? Next time, just grab a paper and use it to scrape them all off at once.
That’s it! Pretty simple, right? But it’s so much easier!

Hi Anna, I just viewed the blog where you told of your solution to warped cutting plates. I’m a demonstrator in Williamsburg, VA and would like to pass it along to my customers if you don’t mind. I have labeled my NEW cutting plates and hope it works. I get so frustrated when the plates warp. I’ll also try it on the Mini. You have given me so many tips and I really enjoy your blog.
