July 2021 Paper Pumpkin Video With Alternative Project Ideas
To see these projects with an explanation of how I created them, and to see me create one of the cards below, watch along here!
Would you like to know what materials came in this month’s kit?
August Paper Pumpkin Kit Contents
This kit included a lot of pieces and parts, which allowed me to use them in so many different ways. It included:
- Stamp set
- Blackberry Bliss Ink Spot
- A beautiful box with pieces to decorate it
- 9 card bases
- Die cuts and cardstock pieces galore
- Adhesive dots and foam dimensionals
- Sequins
- Ribbon
- 9 beautiful, printed envelopes
I created all of these projects and still had a lot of pieces leftover, along with the stamps and ink, that I can use on other projects.
Thinking Of You Stamps
Below you can see the stamp set that came included with the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit. I really like these greetings. My favorite is the large one that says, “Always HOPE because you never know what TOMORROW will bring.”
Next let’s look at the projects that were designed by Stampin Up to create with this kit.
Pre-planned Kit Projects For The August Paper Pumpkin
Below you can see the three card designs for this kit. It came with materials to make three each of the three designs, for a total of nine cards. Aren’t they beautiful?
I mentioned above that the kit also came with materials to decorate the kit box and use it as a ‘Hope Box.’ The idea with this is to use it to hold special mementos to help inspire you. If you’re having a hard day or just need some inspiration, you can pull out the box and look through it’s special contents such as photos, handwritten notes, kids artwork, awards or special gifts.
The box would also make a wonderful gift box to share with a loved one.
I have six more ideas to share for alternative ways to use this kit. Let’s take a look!
August 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project Ideas
For each of the alternative ideas below, I’ll share information about how I created it. These are sure to inspire you to create some different projects!
Die Cut Negative Re-Use
After I punched out the banners from the piece on the card below, I looked at the negative piece and thought how pretty it was. I attached it to a card base and stamped a greeting in each open area.
HOPE Card
For this card, I repeatedly stamped ‘Hope’ across the cardstock piece. I love the simplicity of this, but it doesn’t lack in making a statement.
Quick & Simple Card
This card is super simple. I stamped the large greeting and butterflies, then added the banners at the top.
Alternative Overlay Project
Rather than punching the overlay out of the larger cardstock piece, I decided to leave it attached and make it a full card front. I trimmed it down to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and attached it to the front of the card. With banners, some ribbon and a greeting tag, it came together nicely.
Overlay With Blending Brushes
I took one of the die cut overlays, sponged the back side with glue, let it dry so it would be like temporary adhesive, then attached it to the front of this card base. I used blending brushes with Polished Pink and Blackberry Bliss inks to add color over the top, then I removed the overlay. It gives a unique look.
Last but not least…
Blended Overlay Card
I used the overlay from the card above and attached it to this card for a beautiful look.
