Not too long ago I saw one of these neat fancy fold corner cards, and I’ve been dying to make one myself! Yesterday I had a group of Red Hatters come for a class, and I thought it would be a great project to make with them!
The folded down corner is very easy to create. With your 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ card base laying flat, using your Stampin’ Trimmer, you want to make a cut from 5/8″ down and 5/8″ left of the corner, down to the 3″ mark (so the cut is actually 2 3/8″ long). After you make the first cut, flip your paper over and repeat to make a second cut at a 90 degree angle to the first one. If you look at the left side of the picture below, you can see where the cuts were made. The diagonal portions were not cut- that is where the ‘flap’ got folded over. I realize this would be better with a video tutorial, so maybe I’ll make one sometime.
On the card front, I stamped the leaves and then embossed it before folding down the corner and securing it with some adhesive. I added a Very Vanilla 2″square topped with that cute little acorn.
Then it was on to decorate the inside…
