A few weeks ago, I needed to crank out some serious Christmas cards. I already had enough cards prepared for my personal cards, but I needed enough to send out to my Stampin Up customers, and I also decided to send them to the leaders of groups I’ve had stay at my craft retreat during the past year. So…it was time to start making some big groups of cards. Back in November, I had received a card like today’s as a card swap at Stampin Up’s OnStage event, and I absolutely loved it. I decided to recreate it with a few changes. Here is my shimmering wreath Christmas card idea.
I made that lovely wreath on the fronts of the cards using the Seasonal Wreath embossing folder. The greeting on both the inside and outside was from our Greatest Part of Christmas hostess stamp set, which you can get for free with any $50 purchase this month when you use the current hostess code before checking out.
I added a few rhinestone ‘berries’ which I colored with a Cherry Cobbler Blends marker, and made a cute bow with our striped Cherry Cobbler ribbon. I also added a shimmering gleam over top of the wreath using a Wink of Stella glitter brush. I experimented with a different shimmering effect by painting some Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the wreath using an Aqua Painter. Both effects were gorgeous! The Wink of Stella had more of a silvery look, while the shimmer paint was more pearlescent.
Thanks for taking a look at today’s wreath Christmas card idea! If you need a few more cards yourself, these are a great option!
