Hello friends, and welcome to this month’s One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! We are featuring projects with the theme of ‘new beginnings,’ and I recently saw a meme that inspired today’s project…a paper toilet tutorial. Rather unusual, right? Join in, and I’ll explain.
The Inspiration
So here’s the back story for where this toilet idea came from. I saw a meme recently that said ‘2020 is straight from the (picture of toilet)’ and the last line said ‘Bring on 2021.’ Being that I think about paper crafts 86% of the day, my mind immediately jumped to the idea of a paper toilet for a New Year’s favor for the end of this year. Since we’re talking about new beginnings today, I decided to break out my project idea now. Let’s flush 2020, and bring on 2021…
These would be fun for New Year’s Eve, but I think you could bring a smile to the face of many friends, family, co-workers, and others with one of these humorous treat holders.
Coordinating Card
Of course, I made a coordinating card.
I made the toilet paper roll on the card using some Flowers For Every Season ribbon wrapped around a small piece of silver foil paper. The woodgrain paper makes it look like an outhouse, right?
Instructions
Now, let’s talk about the paper toilet tutorial. A full supply list along with ordering links is included at the bottom of this post. You’ll need white cardstock, Snow Globe Shaker Domes, Playful Pets trinkets (for the handle), adhesives, and a few tools. Tootsie Rolls are optional.
In this video I give detailed instructions for creating one or a few of these toilets. Watch along for a little entertainment as well as instructions for this project!
Thanks for humoring me and reading all the way to the end of my paper toilet tutorial. Stop back again soon, when I’ll be sharing anything besides a paper toilet!
