OSAT Blog Hop Welcome to Our Holiday with a Gratitude Card Idea

12 Sep

Hi everyone, and welcome to this month’s OSAT Blog Hop! We have some amazing projects to share with you today featuring products from our 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog! I have a lovely gratitude card idea and card set to share, so keep reading!

I don’t know about you, but I loooooovvvve fall. I could have used a lot more o’s and v’s there, but you get the idea. I love the weather, the decorations, the sports, the food, the gatherings, and extra reasons to give thanks. In addition, I’m a farm girl, so harvest is such an important time of year where we get to (hopefully) see the results of the year’s work. I’m so glad that fall is almost officially here!

To highlight this year’s holiday catalog items, I decided to make a fall-themed project. I came up with a gratitude card idea, and then duplicated them to make a card set with decorated gift box.

Handmade fall gratitude card idea, with woods, trees, and falling leaves. Give thanks! Great for a Thanksgiving card idea. Uses Stampin Up Gathered Leaves dies and basic pattern masks for the trees. Embossing paste technique!

For my color scheme, I started with prints in the  Come To Gather designer paper pack. I’ve been using this paper like crazy, and I need to order more of it, because I barely had enough to die cut the leaves! I used the Gathered Leaves Dies to cut leaves from the designer paper and a few from copper foil sheets too. I made the tag using the ‘With Gratitude’ stamp in the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, and cut them out with Ornate Frames Dies. I added in some gorgeous copper floral sprays from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements, some braided linen trim, and a few sequins. It’s like a collage of fall beauty!

What about those amazing trees in the background? I used the tree template from our new Basic Pattern Masks along with embossing paste to create that dramatic background. If you’ve never used embossing paste, you could check out this video to give you an idea of how to use it. It’s very quick and simple!

I’m going to include the 4 cards in the decorated card box and use them as a nice gift this fall.
