Stampin Up Fancy Borders & A Brilliant Border Technique!

6 Mar

Once again I received a new stamp set recently that inspired me to share a fun technique. What is it? How to create adorable, professional looking borders for your cards and envelopes. It’s not a regular border like you might be thinking. I mean, I love to stamp simple borders for my cards, but this one looks so professional! Below you can see one card I created with my new Stampin Up Fancy Border stamp set and one I created using the technique I’ll share today. Let’s get started!

Brilliant Border Technique Video

Watch along here and stick around until the end to hear about an amazing Bible study I’m completing right now.

Stampin Up Fancy Borders

Here is the stamp set that inspired this lovely technique. I love how easy it makes it to create these lovely borders for your cards and envelopes.

I also used the stamps shown below which I am in love with. They are perfect for personalizing cards for all your favorite people in life. As you can see on my cards, you can choose a single stamp like ‘father’ or use a collection of them together to really personalize your cards!

Border Technique

So here’s how I created the border technique myself using a different stamp set. I used a large post it note and applied it to my card in the correct location. You could use removable tape or masking paper as well. Then I used a marker to draw a line the length of the paper. At the ends, I created dots slightly larger than the line itself. Then I used a small stamp and stamped several times to create the nice design.

When you remove the post-it, you’ll have a lovely border!

On the card above you can see how I used several of the greeting stamps to personalize a card for a woman who is a mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and dog mom. I really like the idea of using this stamp set in this way more often.

Before we go, I wanted to show that these borders are awesome for decorating your envelopes as well.
