How To Use White Ink For Card Making

20 Apr

Hi friends and thanks for visiting. I’m excited today to be highlighting one particular color of ink. It’s one I don’t talk about a lot, but I’m not sure why because you can do so many neat things with it! What color is it? White!! Let’s talk about how to use white ink for card making, because there are a lot of techniques to try out!

Not sure how to use white ink for card making? Click for six fun techniques for making neat cards with white ink! Stampin Up Cheerful Daisies

I’ll be sharing six different ways to use white ink. Let’s talk about them in the next section.

How To Use White Ink For Card Making

Just Stamp It

This is pretty simple – just stamp with it. You won’t want to use white cardstock (!!) so choose another color of cardstock and stamp on it!

Repeat Stamp It

Use your stamping platform to stamp several times in exactly the same place for a brighter white.

Stamp White, Then Stamp On Top With Color

You’ll need your stamping platform for this technique too. Stamp with white and let it dry. Then stamp directly over the top with the color of your choice. This is such a fun way to stamp on colored cardstock but still get a pretty image.

Here you can see what Boho Blue ink looks like stamped directly onto Moody Mauve cardstock, and the difference when I stamped white underneath for the flower.

Since we’re talking about colors, I’ll mention that these projects highlight our five new In Colors coming May 2 – Moody Mauve, Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, and Pebbled Path. How do you like them?

Water Paint With It

Put a drop of the white ink refill onto a block, add some water, and start painting! Isn’t this pretty?

Stamp, Then Color With Pencils

What a pretty effect using watercolor pencils.

Below you can see the colored pencil colors on Boho Blue cardstock with no white ink underneath, and compare it to the daisies with white ink underneath.

Shadow Stamp

For this one, stamp your images with white and let them dry. Then stamp slightly off from the first stamp (don’t use your stamping platform for this) using a color.

How do you like these techniques? If you’re loving the daisies, I’ll show a preview of the stamp and die bundle I used to make them in the next section.

Featured Bundle – Cheerful Daisies

Here you can see the Cheerful Daisies bundle that I used on these cards. It’s a new release coming May 2!
