Quick Tip – Watercolor Using Regular Inks With No Bleeding!

1 Sep

Hi friends and thanks for stopping in today. I have a quick tip to share with you, and I was inspired to share this while I was working on a watercolor project recently. I like to stamp with my different colors of water-based inks, instead of always using my boring black StazOn ink, but when I use my regular inks, sometimes they bleed. See the bleeding on the pumpkin below? Let’s talk about how to prevent that!

Watercolor Card Making Tip

Here’s how to stamp with regular ink, then watercolor over the top and not have any bleeding occur. It’s pretty simple – just use a heat tool to dry the water. I used my water painters to apply water and color to the image below, and you can see the stamped pumpkin didn’t bleed. Keep in mind the more water you use, the more bleeding will occur. The longer the water is in place before you dry it, the more bleeding will occur. But I’ve done this several times with no bleeding at all.

I hope this helps you!
