Stampin Up Waves Of Inspiration Now Available + 10 Cards And Techniques!

If you’re daydreaming about what may be included in the next Stampin Up Annual Catalog coming in May, today I can give you a peek at one of the gorgeous bundles. We have an early release of the Stampin Up Waves of Inspiration bundle, part of the Waves of the Ocean special release, available today for ordering. I sat down to craft with these products last week and couldn’t…put…them…down. They were neat to look at, but once I started creating with them, I got more and more ideas for how to use them. I have tons of card samples plus a few techniques to share with you today. Let’s take a look!

Stampin Up Waves Of The Ocean Collection

The entire Waves of the Ocean collection includes the Waves of Inspiration stamp set, Waves dies, Waves of the Ocean designer paper, Blue Foils specialty paper, and a beautiful pack of rhinestones.

I like to point out when products are good for men, because it can be hard to find masculine-themed stamping products. These are very versatile however and are very appropriate for women as well.

Below you can see a better picture of the papers. They are stunning. I forgot to use any of the foils on my cards, and I was really bummed when I realized that. They got buried on my table and I forgot about them because they were out of sight. Have you ever lost anything on your craft table?!

Stampin Up Waves of Inspiration Bundle

Here you can see the stamps and dies up close. The die set includes two wave dies that are meant to be layered, as well as clouds, birds, tags, and one die to cut around the pelican from the stamp set. The stamp set includes an amazing wave stamp, the pelican, a bird and four neat greetings.

Waves of Inspiration Card Samples

Let’s take a look at my card samples. I’ll call this card below, the classic. I used the products basically as designed to create this beautiful scene.

Torn Waves Card – This is so simple to create. I showed in the video how to tear the waves, and then I layered three pieces to create this look.

Glossy Waves – I used heat embossing to make the waves look glossy and realistic. How did I emboss using Pacific Point ink? I explained it in the video, or you can also learn how to emboss with any color of ink here.

The Mistake Card – This card was a total mistake, but it looks really neat, especially in person. The waves pop out from the card and I really like it! You can see the 3D effect and learn how this card came to be in the video.

The Alternative Card & The Not Blue Card – How else can you use the wave stamp besides to create waves? To create the awesome texture shown in the background of the mint-colored card below. On another note, are these cards full of too much blue for you? There are yellows and corals in the designer paper pack as well, and I wanted to highlight one of these prints using the card on the right.

More Card Samples

The rest of my samples included some added products because we have so many products that coordinate with these waves. We have the Seashells embossing folder, Friends Are Like Seashells bundle, Let’s Set Sail bundle and Seascape bundle.

What did I create using the Stampin Up Waves of Inspiration products plus the ones mentioned above? I’ll share them next.

Beach Card – I embossed Crumb Cake cardstock with the Seashells embossing folder, used blending brushes over the top to make it pop, then tore and layered it to look like the beach.

Sailboat Card – I’ll share a tutorial for this card coming in about a week, and it’s a really helpful one because I’ll share tons of tips and tricks for creating a lot of cards in a short amount of time.

Fish Bowl Card – I used our Gumball Machine dies and shaker domes to make the adorable card shown on the right below.

Goldfish Shaker Card – The card on the left is just stunning in person. It’s the first time I’ve created a shaker card over just a portion of a card.

Bonus Technique

I couldn’t stop creating with this product collection! Here’s another idea for you. Can you see on the photo below that on the left side, the waves overlap with an awkward edge line? I wanted to figure out how to overlap them in a natural way, so I figured out how to create the look on the right using the Stamparatus. Watch along with my video to see exactly how to do this.
