I love when we have a mask set that coordinates with a stamp and die bundle to make it easy to add color to a stamped image. But…most of the time these mask sets are not available. I had the idea the other day that I could make my own, so today I want to share how to make your own masks for simple coloring on your projects. Let’s take a look!

Charming Day Bundle
Here you can see the Charming Day bundle, which is part of the Floral Charm product suite. This is such a nice stamp and die set, and I love that we have coordinating paper and embellishments as part of the product suite. You can see the other beautiful items on the cards I created.

How To Create Your Own Masks
Here are the instructions for how to make your own masks.
First, stamp your image of choice onto a piece of cardstock. Then use a craft knife to begin cutting out the areas you’ll want to ink with a single color.
You may need to repeat this several times on multiple pieces of cardstock, depending on how many different colors you will want to add. In the video, you’ll see that I created separate masks for flower petals, leaves, and the center of the flower.

Card Samples
Let’s take a look at the cards I created.
Card #1
This is the card I created using the small flower stamp. I used Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Misty Meadow and Old Olive inks to add color to the stamped image. I just love how this turned out with the pretty background paper and gold accents.

Card #2
Here is my card sample. I just love these colors together, but I cannot take credit for the color palette because I stole it from the beautiful designer paper! I used the following ink colors: Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight, and Pretty Peacock.

Card #3
Here’s a little bit different idea to try – using the masks with no stamped image. You’ll get a completely different look!
