Heat embossing is a wonderful way to add a special touch to your projects. Today I would like to share five fun techniques you can try with heat embossing. If you’re not familiar with how to emboss, I’ll share a few basics and links to learn more about it. If you’re already familiar with embossing, you’ll have to try these techniques and see what you can create!

Click to see 5 heat embossing techniques to try today! Samples feature Stampin Up Fragrant Flowers, and include Joseph's Coat technique, watercolor wash, multicolor embossing, and how to emboss in any color!

The Basics Of Heat Embossing

Heat embossing uses clear Versamark ink, over which embossing powder is sprinkled, then heat set, to create raised glossy accents on cards. To learn all about heat embossing, take a look here.

Tools Needed

For heat embossing, you’ll need Versamark ink, embossing powder, and a heat tool. Also recommended are an embossing buddy, included in our embossing additions tool kit, and a small brush to remove extra powder.

Great video! I’m a long-time stamper but I never considered using multiple colors of embossing powder on one image. Thanks for the tip!
