Die Won’t Crank? Try This Tip!

Welcome, friends. I have a quick tip to share today, so let’s get to it! When you’re die cutting, do you ever have problems getting the platform and die to go into the machine? You push and push and it won’t go in? Or you feel like you have to crank with all your might to get it to feed through? Oftentimes this happens when you have a die with a flat edge and you’ve placed it right at the front of your platform. Here’s how to fix it…

Instead of laying your dies like this…

The next time you can't get your die to crank through your die cutting machine, try this trick to get it to feed easily!

…try this…

The next time you can't get your die to crank through your die cutting machine, try this trick to get it to feed easily!

…or this.

The next time you can't get your die to crank through your die cutting machine, try this trick to get it to feed easily!

Instead of this…

The next time you can't get your die to crank through your die cutting machine, try this trick to get it to feed easily!

…or this.

The next time you can't get your die to crank through your die cutting machine, try this trick to get it to feed easily!

It usually helps to pull the die back away from the front edge of your platform, and to angle dies that have a long straight edge.
