Coloring With Blender Pens and Watercolor Pencils

6 Apr

The other day I made this sweet Easter card using the Stampin Up Fable Friends stamp set. I decided to color the rabbit in a different way than I usually do my coloring, and I grabbed my blender pens and watercolor pencils. I’m so glad I did! I created the perfectly soft touch for this card. I also made a video to show you how to do this. Let’s talk about coloring with blender pens and watercolor pencils!

To color the rabbit, I placed the blender pen against the tip of the watercolor pencil, to pick up just a hint of color. Then I used the blender pen to add that color to my project, using a swirling motion to distribute the color. You have to be careful not to pick up too much color at first and not to swirl too much, because it can cause your paper to pill up. Watch along and see exactly how I did this.

Here you can see the Fable Friends stamp set, which also includes Mother Goose, some cute goslings or ducks, and an adorable sailor-like squirrel. I used the squirrel for a card that I shared a while back and it turned out adorably! See it here.
