Christmas Catalog Coming Soon and Bokeh Technique Joyful Nativity Card

17 Aug

Surprise! I’m back! At least for the moment, my internet is working, my toddler is sleeping, and I am not yet! First, I want to thank those of you who have sent messages telling me you’ve missed my posts and videos. I have missed posting, but you know that there’s this thing called life. There are times when sharing fun pictures of cards on the internet is not priority one. Or two. Or even ten. I know, life stinks sometimes, doesn’t it? Here’s the good news…you can expect to see more from me. The bad news? It won’t be every day. It’s going to be when I’m able to get to it. Hopefully I’ll come up with a regular schedule at some point, but I’m not there yet. For now, I wanted to let you know that the Holiday Catalog is coming super super soon!!! And I wanted to share a lovely card I made for one of my recent classes to get you in the mood. It uses the Joyful Nativity stamp set and the bokeh technique. Here it is!

Bokeh Technique Stampin' Up! Joyful Nativity Christmas Card also uses Reason for the Season set

Isn’t this beautiful? I sponged the background with Dapper Denim and Rich Razzleberry ink – all over, until no white was showing. The next step was adding the bokeh technique. I used scrap cardstock with different sizes of circles punched out as my template to sponge white circles over the top. Overlap a few of these circles – it adds to the effect. I stamped the nativity and star, from the Joyful Nativity stamp set, with Versamark ink and embossed it with our new Copper embossing powder. The greeting comes from the Reason for the Season stamp set.

So what do you think? Are you in the Christmas spirit yet??? Lol, don’t feel like you need to be. You should start getting in the Christmas cardmaking spirit though 🙂 If you’ve never tried the bokeh technique before, you should! It’s really quick and easy!

Are you happy to see a new post from me? If you appreciate the ideas and information that I share, I would love for you to shop on my website. Use the links below to get started!
