Adorable Desk Caddy – Day 6 of 12 Days of DIY Gift Ideas

28 Nov

Welcome to Day 6! This marks halfway through our 12 Days of DIY Gift Ideas, and today, I have an organizational desk caddy that pairs perfectly with Day 3’s gift idea, a cute post-it holder and mini calendar. With lots of home offices popping up these days, it’s important to get organized. Let me share with you how I made this adorable DIY gift.

This cute desk caddy makes a wonderful gift for co-workers and crafters to keep their office and craft supplies organized!

Desk Caddy Video Tutorial

Below is a video of step-by-step instruction on how to make this DIY desk caddy. Please watch along!

How to Make the Desk Caddy

For a complete list of materials, see the products section at the bottom. First, you’ll want to cut and score cardstock based on the following measurements.
  • Large Base Piece – 8 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ scored on the long side at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/4″, scored on the short side at 1″ and 5 1/2″
  • Small Base Piece – 6″ x 3 1/4″ scored on the long side at 3″ and 4″, scored on the short side at 1″ and 2 1/4″
  • Medium Base Piece – 5″ x 6″ scored on the long side at 3″ and 4″, scored on the short side at 1″ and 4″
This cute desk caddy makes a wonderful gift for co-workers and crafters to keep their office and craft supplies organized!
Next, prepare designer papers measuring:
  • 2 – 2 3/4″ x 3/4″
  • 1″ x 1 3/4″
  • 2 – 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
  • 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
Fold, cut and assemble each cardstock piece based on the video instructions. Attach the three boxes together using multipurpose glue or tear and tape adhesive. Decorate each side with designer paper of your choice. To finish it off, tie a ribbon around the outside of the box.
And there you have it! A beautiful little desk caddy perfect for organization! I hope you’ve enjoyed my 12 Days of DIY Gift Ideas so far. I’m excited to share tomorrow’s DIY gift. *Hint* you’re lips are going to love it!
