OSAT Blog Hop – Something Old Something New with Bird Ballad Designer Paper

13 Jun

Welcome to our June OSAT Blog Hop…Something Old Something New! It’s been a few months since I’ve been able to join in with the hop, and I’m glad to be back! Life has been a little nuts with getting married, moving, opening a craft retreat house, gaining three stepkids, and surviving my first planting season as a farmwife. Phew, I’m tired just thinking about it! Things are calming down now, and I’m ready to get back to crafting and sharing on my blog! Thanks for stopping in to see what I have for you today!

Here is what I made for this month’s hop – a card and matching tin set in the lovely color of Petal Pink.

Handmade Card and Matching Tin Gift Set Made Using Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad Designer Paper and Decorative Tin

I used our Bird Ballad themed products for these projects. The birds were cut out of a piece of our Bird Ballad designer series paper. The tin coordinates, and is known as the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards and Tin. Don’t they look nice together?

As mentioned, this month’s theme is Something Old, Something New. The ‘old’ products I used include the Rooted in Nature stamp set, stitched rectangle dies, doily and ribbon. New products include the Bird Ballad paper and tin, and Garden Lane designer paper.

Speaking of designer paper, have you seen the beautiful new assortment of papers in our new catalog? I have decided to offer a paper share to allow customers access to 6″ x 6″ samples of all the new papers at a great price! See details at the bottom if you’re interested.

Now let’s look at that lovely tin!

I decorated the tin by attaching each piece with Mod Podge. Mod Podge might have been one of the greatest things ever invented if you ask me! I used a paintbrush to cover the back of each piece with Mod Podge, then smoothed it onto the tin in the proper location. I let each piece dry before moving on to the next. Then when it was finished, I added one more coat of Mod Podge over the top. When I did this, the stamped image smeared some! I think if I would have brushed over it more quickly, it wouldn’t have smeared much. Regardless, I still like the way it looks!

Before I go, I have to show you what comes inside of that gorgeous tin! It is a set of 12 laser-cut cards and scalloped envelopes. Aren’t these to die for?!? I played around with them a little bit and made some gorgeous cards with them!Handmade Card and Matching Tin Gift Set Made Using Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad Designer Paper and Decorative Tin

Here’s my project one last time! I’m debating whether to gift it to a friend or keep it for myself. Tough decision!
