Quick Tip – Cut Stamps & Save Time!

18 Apr

Welcome stampers! It’s time for this week’s quick tip, which is to cut your stamps to save time! Take a look below for details.

Have you ever considered cutting your stamps? Why in the world would you do that? Click here to see why!

Cut Stamps & Save Time!

Several weeks back, I shared a tutorial for the card shown below. I wanted to stamp the greeting, flower outline and stem/leaf outline at the same time on my Stamparatus, but the flower and leaf stamps wouldn’t line up next to each other because of that outer edge on the stamps – the ‘blank space’ at the edge. I decided to trim it off to be able to line them up adjacent. This allowed me to stamp all three stamps at one time, which made it so much easier.

This tip is only practical if you plan to stamp both stamps with the same color of ink. Here’s another example with the Sweet Songbirds stamp set. By trimming the edges of the stamps, I was able to stamp both the bird and legs at the same time.

When trimming stamps, be very careful not to cut into the stamping surface. You don’t want to harm the original stamp! You’ll also want a really great pair of small, sharp scissors.

Thanks for this video. I really needed tips for trimming red rubber stamps. Have you made a video of this. If not, please consider it. Thanks!
