Stampin Up The Right Triangle Makes Beautiful Quilt Cards

19 Sep

When I first saw the Stampin Up The Right Triangle stamp set and coordinating Stitched Triangles dies, I didn’t like them. At all. I’m sure you’ve had this same reaction to products you’ve seen, and it’s totally ok! It took me a while to realize that the triangles would make really nice quilt cards, and that’s when the idea of purchasing the set began to grow on me. My fondness grew enough for me to make the purchase, and I was excited to begin creating with this product bundle. When I was preparing for today’s video and blog post, I started realizing how many ways there are to use these triangles, and I just had to create a collection of projects to highlight their versatility. Please join in and let’s talk about this amazing bundle!

Stamp Set

The Right Triangle stamp set is full of…you guessed it…triangles. Right triangles. Because it includes geometric shapes, you are not limited to making anything specific with it like you would be with a snowman, apple, or flower stamp set. These triangles can be pieced together to make almost anything!

Dies

The coordinating Stitched Triangles dies include three different shapes of triangles in varying sizes. They can be used alone or with coordinating stamp sets like the one shown above or the one I’ll mention below.

If you need an idea for how to use paper scraps, die cutting them with these triangle dies is a perfect way to use them!

Coordinating Christmas Stamps

The die set also coordinates with the Tree Angle stamp set included in this year’s Holiday Catalog. I think these geometric Christmas trees are just too stinkin’ adorable. See more about the Tree Angle set and this card here.

Ways To Use

I played around with three different ways to use the Stampin Up The Right Triangle stamps and dies. Let’s look at them.

Stamps Alone

Using the stamps alone, we can first create geometric designs. I created the card below using a fun Stamparatus technique called step stamping.

The stamps can also be used to create pictures. I searched Pinterest for ‘quilt patterns’ or more specific terms like ‘pineapple quilt block’ or ‘flower quilt pattern’ to get my inspiration for the cards below.

The sky is the limit for how to piece these stamps together to make all sorts of pictures and pretty designs!

Dies Alone

I also played around with using just the dies. The card below is a great way to use up paper scraps.

All white quilts are something I’m very fond of, so I wanted to recreate one on a card. I used the dies to cut triangles from vanilla cardstock, and then embossed half of them with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and the other half with the Subtle embossing folder. Next, I pieced them together, and sponged lightly over the top with Crumb Cake ink to achieve the aged look. I just love this look!

I should mention that I used the Many Mates stamp set for the greetings on today’s projects.

Both Stamps And Dies

For the scrapbook page shown here, I used the stamps and dies together. I stamped triangles with Misty Moonlight and Crumb Cake inks, then die cut them. I used my ‘quilt block patterns’ search results to find this pretty design which I’m told is called the Ohio Star. You could create this same pattern to fit on a card using the smallest triangle stamps and dies.

You could also create many, many more designs by arranging the triangles differently!
