Congrats Baby Card

20 Jul

I grew up on a farm, so I had my share of experiences with baby animals. I loved the challenge of taming kittens or puppies that a wild cat or dog had given birth to in one of our barns, and the experience of raising my own pigs and calves that I would use as fair projects later that year. It was always sad how fast they grew into big animals that were so much less cute! I guess it’s the same with children- they’re adorable and sweet and they grow up too fast.

When I first glanced through the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog, Barnyard Babies was my absolute favorite stamp set from the moment I laid eyes on it. It was partially because I love anything that has to do with farming, but also because these little animals are so stinkin’ cute!
I’ve been having fun using this stamp set and not too long ago I shared an accordion fold card that I made with it. I was pretty proud of it if I’m allowed to say so. I needed another congrats baby card a few weeks ago, and here is what I came up with.
Congrats baby card made with Stampin' Up! Barnyard Babies and Cottage Greetings stamp sets
I stamped the images with Memento ink and then added color using an Aqua Painter. Doing this versus coloring the images with markers gives a muted effect which is great for baby cards.
With greetings like Fleece Navidad, How Now?, Hope Your Day is Just Ducky, and Hogs and Kisses, the Barnyard Babies stamp set can be used for much more than just baby cards. I would love to see what you come up with!
