Are you as ready as I am for the release of the new Stampin Up Annual Catalog next week? I’m so excited to begin creating and sharing ideas using a new selection of products. Along with the new catalog comes the release of our five new 2022-2024 Stampin Up In Colors to add to our palette, and they are SO pretty! I’ll introduce them to you today along with some fun techniques to use to bring out the beautiful colors in your collection.

Introducing 2022-2024 Stampin Up In Colors
Parakeet Party
What shall we call this…a lemony lime color? It’s so bright and cheerful, and an even brighter and lighter version of Granny Apple Green.
The technique I used for this card is creating a watercolor wash background using Water Painters. I used the new Sending Smiles bundle to stamp the flowers and to create the word ‘Sending.’
Orchid Oasis
I honestly can’t decide if this is blue or purple, but I’ve organized it in the purples section of my inks and paper cubes. I imagine purple is the correct answer since the name is ‘orchid.’ My daughter says this is the absolute perfect color of purple, and I won’t argue! What a gorgeous shade to add to our color collection.
For this card, I used the stamping off technique to achieve various shades of the same color. By stamping once, then again, you achieve a lighter color using the same ink pad. This is a great way to extend the use of your colors. The Framed Occasions stamp set was perfect for this fun, geometric card design.
Tahitian Tide
What a bright, beautiful blue. This makes me want to go somewhere warm and tropical! Bright colors have become a favorite in my stamping endeavors, and this is an awesome addition that I plan to use often.
I used two different coloring techniques on this card. First, I dragged the ink pad over the surface to get the streaky background.
Then, I mounted the greeting stamp from the Lucky You stamp set onto my Stamparatus. I stamped with it repeatedly to get a darker blue from the same ink pad.
If you’re wondering about the splatters you see on the finished card, I stamped them using a stamp from the Nature’s Prints stamp set, a new favorite of mine.
Sweet Sorbet
I just can’t call this pink, and I just can’t call it red. I guess I’ll call it Sweet Sorbet! It’s really fun that these names help my daughter with her reading. She was pronouncing it sor-bett, so we cleared that up along with ‘tahitian’ and ‘orchid’ (orkid not orchid). Poppy Parade has been a favorite of mine, and this is a really nice similar color with more pink in it.
I tried a unique technique for this one, called ghosting or shadow stamping, by first stamping the rectangle from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set with white ink onto black cardstock. Once the ink dried, I stamped again in the same place with my Stamparatus and Sweet Sorbet ink. This is a fun way to get a different look on dark cardstock.
On the finished card, you can see that I stamped the background with the new Happiness Abounds stamp set and embossed it with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.
Starry Sky
Gorgeous is all I can say! I featured this color on a card I shared last week, and you can see it below. Learn more about this Nature’s Prints card here.
The card below is the one I created with a fun technique for today’s projects.
For this card, I spritzed the background using a Stampin Spritzer with water and a few drops of Starry Sky ink. After it was dry, I stamped using the Botanical Layers stamp set.
